A Visit to Gettysburg

The Tenth Agers recently visited Gettysburg, and were transported "back in time" for the day as they learned about the famous three-day battle.  Students began the day with a scavenger hunt through the Visitor's Center Museum, which includes six galleries filled with a wide array of Civil War artifacts. The boys were also able to watch short films on the causes of the war, each of the three days of the Battle of Gettysburg, and the results of the war.  The battlefield tour was led by our guide, Michael, who shared a wealth of information and many poignant stories about the battle.  One of the highlights included a role play of a "cannon crew," as the boys learned about the difficulty of using this weapon during the war.  Here are some more snapshots of the day's events...

The "cannon crew" awaits their instructions from Michael.
